This Multi Academy Trust achieved increased educational impact and greater operational efficiencies with the use of Freedom Cloud.

The Requirement

This growing Multi Academy Trust recognised that certain services in every school were being duplicated and that, using a blend of public and private cloud technologies there were significant operational efficiencies to be made. A strategic ICT partner was sought to supply and support technology and shared services across the entire Trust. With our in-depth understanding of the educational market, European Electronique was awarded the contract.

The Solution

European Electronique defined a roadmap to migrate academies to take advantage of our Freedom solution. Freedom is engineered to meet educational needs at a price point that education budgets can sustain. In addition, it is 100% UK hosted for all data. Detailed school by school migration plans that supported minimal down time, highlighting key risks and providing a strict change control process to eliminate cost overruns were created.

A particular requirement of the Trust was to allow Google Apps and Docs to sit alongside Office 365. This poses significant challenges for many solutions in the market when dealing with single sign on and security but Freedom was designed to harmonise disparate single sign on environments into an easy to use interface for the end user.

European Electronique continues to work with David Ross Education Trust to migrate all their sites to the Freedom model, whilst adding new schools quickly and cost effectively. The cloud model even allows term time migrations to be carried out to accelerate the return on investment for the Trust.

“Using the EE Freedom Cloud allows us to do things in an innovative but secure way, always focusing on supporting teachers to provide the highest quality of education. Working with EE is enabling the DRET academies to realise our vision of working together to share resources, reduce costs and drive forward innovation.” Guy Shearer Head of IT and Data, David Ross Education Trust
